First ever Mikvah in Sri Lanka

Following more than a quarter-century of war, Sri Lanka faces the daunting task of trying to rebuild after its troops routed the last Tamil Tiger separatist rebels Monday, ending the war.

The end of the war ushers in a new era for the country, which is expected to become a tourist hot spot in the near future. Chabad of Sri Lanka has begun a new initiative, building the first ever mikvah in the country. Sri Lanka has been a popular getaway for Europeans and Israeli tourists alike, despite the seemingly endless war, and the Mikvah will serve the needs of these travelers and local Jewish families.
